In Massachusetts, you can see, hear, feel and even live history. Take a look at the rock where the first pilgrims set foot, and visit Plimoth Plantation to see what life was like in the 1600s, before phones and reality TV. Follow the Freedom Trail in downtown Boston, where every step tells a story of the American Revolution. Listen to the famous ”shot heard round the world ” on Lexington Green, where the first shots of the Revolutionary War were fired. Sit where key figures of the abolitionist movement sat in the African-American Meeting House, now perfectly restored. Stroke the hull 3 – masted Old Ironsides, also known as the USS Constitution. Step back in time to 1830 at Old Sturbridge Village, one of the oldest and largest museums in the United States.
